Role Overview
The PMO Manager is a key role within the Project Delivery Office, reporting to the Director, PDO.
This position partners with the Director to bring Boralex’s Project Delivery Office (PDO) -our integrated PMO - to life across our construction projects, with a focus on consolidating project controls practices, driving consistency in templates and tools, and supporting the rollout of new ways of working as the PDO matures.
Boralex is at the start of its PDO journey. The vision & roadmap are in place, and the build is underway with our delivery partners. This role is a meaningful opportunity toput your mark on how the PDO comes to life- helping translate the plan into practices that work for Boralex's project teams.
This position works closely with Project Delivery, Development, Engineering, Finance, Procurement, and Executive Leadership across Canada and the United States.
Key Responsibilities
PDO Collaboration
- Work cross-functionally with project teams, the PDO team, and implementation partners.
- Bring hands-on project experience to the design and rollout of PDO practices.
- Help shape the PDO as it matures.
- Support change management and adoption of new PDO practices across project teams.
- Support continuous improvement and PDO roadmap rollout.
Portfolio Visibility
- Support consolidated portfolio oversight across active construction projects.
- Help surface project status, risks, and dependencies to enable informed prioritization.
Governance and Gating
- Act as a guardian of governance and gating practices, ensuring they are respected and applied consistently.
- Support the rollout of standardized gating, readiness reviews, and escalation mechanisms across project teams.
- Reinforce disciplined change control through review, challenge, and coaching.
Capacity and Planning
- Support forward-looking capacity visibility across the construction portfolio.
- Help drive cross-project coordination and workload tracking with project teams.
Data & Performance
- Drive consistency in the use of project controls templates, tools, and reporting across construction projects.
- Support harmonized dashboards and reporting that give the Director, PDO decision-ready visibility.
Help embed standardized tools and data practices for reliable performance visibility.
Qualifications & Experience
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Finance, or a related discipline.
- 10+ years of experience in project controls, project management, or portfolio support roles on large, complex capital projects.
- Exposure to projects involving greenfield development, construction, and commissioning.
- Demonstrated experience with cost, schedule, forecasting, and performance reporting at a project or portfolio level.
- Proven experience operating in matrixed, cross-functional organizations and influencing without direct authority.
- Full professional fluency in both French and English (spoken and written).
Preferred
- Experience in the renewable energy sector.
- Experience supporting PMO implementation or integration initiatives.
- Familiarity with industry project controls and portfolio management tools and systems.
